Today we want to introduce you to the Easy 5 Paragraph essay.
Easy 5 Paragraph Essay
This standard form is often used by instructors/professors to check your writing and logic skills, grammar, punctuation, and numerous other things.
To create a 5-paragraph essay you can follow this simple format.
Paragraph 1:
Get the reader’s attention – Ask a question, use a quote, cite a statistic and use this to draw the reader into your topic.
Topic/Thesis Sentence – State your purpose simply and succinctly.
Give your reasons – The three reasons stated here become your body paragraphs (the three center paragraphs of your essay).
Paragraphs 2, 3, & 4:
Explain your reasoning and offer further explanation, such as research/supporting evidence…even your own logical arguments to support your ideas.
Paragraph 5:
Summary: Now that you have explained your reasons you need to tie things up. Restate your topic/thesis sentence. Make sure that you highlight the main thing or things that you feel are most important.
